I'm Katrin, an LA-based Storyboard Artist with a passion for all things zany, heartfelt, and exciting. I have 4+ years of experience on animated feature films and series at studios, such as Netflix, Nickelodeon, Apartment D Films, and others.
I draw inspiration mostly from reality, which I like to warp and turn into exaggerated fictional stories and worlds. Growing up as a zillenial in 00's Bulgaria eventually led me to pursue animation not only as a form of self-expession, but also as a career. The limbo of existing between generations in a place going through a social and political limbo, being simultaneously influenced by Shrek 2 on VHS, Kingdom Hearts at the local arcade, and classic Looney Tunes cartoons on cable TV, has undoubtedly shaped my style and sense of humor as a creative today.
During my time at Ringling College of Art and Design, I made an award-winning slapstick cartoon-inspired musical short called Duck Lake as my thesis, and graduated with a BFA in Computer Animation and a minor in Film Studies.
While not working, you'll find me in the mountains, at the beach, or any cute cafe in LA, trying out the sugariest latte on the menu.
